Sainsbury credit card whinge

Gotta have a whinge about this, I'm afraid. I'd be interested to hear if others have similar experiences. I got a Sainsbury credit card a year ago based on the starting offer and the Nectar points making sense. Have since found that the foreign transactions sting, so will go elsewhere for that, but that's not my whinge. And to be fair, I'm generally pleased apart from the below.
An expensive item (£500) didn't get delivered so the supplier refunded me. Checked via the app only to find that this was refund shown as a debit! So rang Sainsbury's and after waiting 32 minutes got through and was told no, it was definitely a £500 return. Checked the app a few hours later and was still showing as a £500 debit. The next day it's not there and a few days later it finally shows as a £500 credit.
So an inaccurate app backed up by a pretty heavy telephone wait time.
I guess I have to just suck it up - thoughts anybody?

Did it have a minus next to it?
On credit card statements that's normal to show a credit.

No, it didn't and it decreased the amount I had left to spend. When it came back days later it said "credit" and when it first appeared it said "debit"
  • Have you been put in financial hardship as a result of this?

Was the payment showing as a pending debit transaction?

Unfortunately there are times when things happen and there just isn't any reasonable explanation for it. Doesn't happen often but indeed can. I'd just move on, seems a little trivial to me.
If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.

    Secured/Unsecured loans x 1
    Credit Cards x 8 (total limit £51,300)
Creation FS Retail Account x 1
    0% Overdraft x 1 (£0 / £250)
    Mortgage Outstanding - £138,087.38 (Payment 11/360)
    Total Debt = £1,125.00 (0%APR) @ £112.50pm

  • It can take a couple of days for transactions to be fully recorded. The pending section is usually very accurate. I agree you are overthinking things. There are much greater things to whinge about!

As long as your statemented balance was correct - you either suck it up or move if your feet.
