That's not quite correct.
You must either receive a bill, or be told in writing that you will receive a bill in the future.
It sounds like a section 20 consultation was done. The final part of that consultation is informing leaseholders that a contractor has been selected, and the cost will be £x.
That might (or might not) count as being informed in writing. (And/or the OP might have received another letter about it, which they haven't mentioned.)
And just for completeness - it's not 18 months from the work being completed, it's 18 months from when the HA becomes liable to pay the money. So it's possible (but unlikely) that...- The contractor hasn't billed the HA yet
- The HA is disputing the contractor's bill - and they haven't yet agreed on a final bill amount
If so, the 18 month clock hasn't started yet. But as I say, those options seem unlikely.itsthelittlethings said:Getting conflicting advice here.
