Does someone get up during the night to use the toilet and wash their hands by turning on the hot tap even if no hot water comes out because it is a combi?

My meter records anything between 0.056 and 0.028 M3 during the night when someone gets up during the night to use the toilet.
Just the two of us here and I've asked that question. No consistent hand washing at those 2 very specific times every night since Thursday.

We've a long run from the boiler to our en-suite and with no water pre-heating set, it takes a good 2-3 minutes for hot water to come through to the taps.

Will check what the weather is due tomorrow morning - there's a fine balance between knowing something you want to know and having a cold (and not very happy) spouse

Try setting heat to come on at 6am and see if you get an extra phantom use about 5am

Had a good sniff around the meter, boiler and hob, fires if fitted?

There's nothing to indicate any leak (no smell, and I'm not sure it'd manifest itself as these fairly consistent 0.15kWh usage ever few hours). I do have a gas fire but its not been on. I'm going to isolate that locally just to rule one thing out. No gas hob/overn.

But, on further analysis today of my gas usage recorded, Ive noticed a couple of time over the past 3 days where our house was up to temperature (its been milder here) and where I believe the boiler was cycled off, that there are still a couple of 0.15kWh readings (one during the day, 2 in the evening). So, I don't think this is just happening overnight, but its masked when the boiler is otherwise doing its thing.

My wife is going out tonight, so I'm going to turn the boiler off and/or isolate the meter and see what it shows.

(its not always 0.15kWh either, its been between 0.12kWh and 0.16kWh)
