Edf billing frequency change
Options
Hi
I got an email stating about my bill and if had taken money out of my energy account. I was on a tarrif that takes the money every 6 months which I have accrued over that time. I was recently billed in September so I was shocked to see this bill come in.
I checked my emails but nothing to say about monthly bills or any change to billing. I did ask my mother as she is with them and said they have changed to monthly billing because people were complaining they couldn't budget.
I understand this and I think jt would make a difference to be able to see what your actually using and spending and not have to worry about paying any extra at the end of the next 6 months.
Was anyone communicated this changes as I can't see it on my emails
Also just wanted to let people know so if doesn't come as a shock like it did to me.

Did you get an email about being transferred to the new billing system? If so, that would explain it.0

I was on a tarrif that takes the money every 6 months which I have accrued over that time.None of the tariffs from EDF specify billing frequency.I checked my emails but nothing to say about monthly bills or any change to billing. I did ask my mother as she is with them and said they have changed to monthly billing because people were complaining they couldn't budget. The reason is the switch to Kraken (software) and that works on a monthly billing basis.
It will also get rid of that ridiculous quirk with EDF where payments in would build up but usage wouldnt deduct so it would appear you have a massive credit when you dontWas anyone communicated this changes as I can't see it on my emailsI moved to Kraken around August and there were emails about it.

I received advisory emails when I was assigned to Kraken. But as I pay my bills monthly anyway for actual use then it has made no difference. I do like wiping the slate clean once a month, and not building either debit or credit balance. I get an exact picture of what energy is costing me on a monthly basis at specific times of year & enjoy the lower monthly energy outgoings in summer which leaves money for other bills (car tax, insurance, boiler service etc) holidays & ice cream.0
