Hello all, it's overcast but dry so that's a nice change. I sorted both freezers yesterday and now have a drawer completely free for some nice xmas bits ! I left out a lo tub of gravy to have with lunch today, but it's turned out to be faggots and peas now it's defrosted 😂 Oh well that's lunch for tomorrow sorted instead.
I woke up coughing in the early hours so I'm hoping it's nothing and will just disappear.
Dad is coming over today because otherwise I won't see him again till xmas day so we're having roast chicken with roasties etc. Tea will be sandwiches and a Jaffa cake dessert, mmmm. Mr Fix It will help me as I'm still not 100%
Snoozer what a nightmare, I hope Steve is on the road to recovery today.
TA fingers crossed it's only a light cold.
taff I missed the radiator woes, hope it all gets sorted today.
Thinking of all the poorly ones, get rid of those germs before xmas please.
Take care all

I used to post here some time ago, have started several posts but always deleted them.
Things have been difficult, my MH took a turn for the worse a couple of years ago. Trying to cope with my own life and an unwell DH was difficult.
This year DH was on end of life care and passed away in October.
I'm on my own. About to spend my first Christmas alone.
You have always been such lovely people, hope it is okay if I post again. Can't promise to post every day.

I missed you silver oldie...I remember how tough it was for you with your husband the wya he was, I doubt i could have coped half as well you did, it's not surprising your MH took a downward turn, it's really stressful and hard to look after someone with dementia. My condolences to you and look forward to seeing you again, however frequntly/infrequently....If you don't want to spend it alone, I'm sure there are groups or inititives where you are, I know there are some here but you do have to look for them and I see them mostly on the community page for where I live on FB. Might be worth a look....We'll all be with you in spirit too,,,,

@silver-oldie Very sorry to hear about your DH, that must have been so hard for you. This is such a lovely community so welcome back. If you have a Twitter account Sarah Millican always does something called #JoinIn every Christmas on there where anyone can go on and comment and, as it says, join in with a conversation. It's really popular and also it's always nice to come on here every day and have a chat too. Take care x

Gers no digits were lost in the tree surgery but I managed to slam my finger tip in a window and my nail (which I had done the day before 🙄) has just about come off 🤢 it’s split half way across and down the nail, it bled so much and was so painful I have wrapped it up to protect it but I have a feeling I will lose the nail 😩I was thinking about Nels yesterday she loved this time of year and would have been knee deep in Christmas films with Baileys and cheese by now ❤️ I do miss her xx
Good grief! That sounds so painful, I hope that a couple of painkillers will help.Yes, I think of Nels an her Christmas films, most of which were so cheesy but she so enjoyed them.I've got some YS mince to cook up, will make a basic ragu and freeze it in portions.

SILVER OLDIE it was so lovely to see you posting again, I have often wondered how you were. But I was so sorry to read you had lost your DH. It's now 5 years since I lost my lovely Bob so I know how hard it's going to be facing your first Christmas without him. I wish I could say it gets easier, and some days really are better than others, but it's the anniversaries, birthdays and especially Christmas that are the hardest to deal with. Please keep posting it really will help. We are all friends on here to listen and share your grief whenever you need it. Take care lovely lady and look after yourself xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"8
