Question about Boiler water heating temperature

matelodave said:Exactly, it's a non-problem for the majority of domestic hot water systems. That bloke has found the same as I did, that not a single case of Legionella has ever been attributed to a domestic hot water system. This sort of OTT regulatory stuff angers me, as the real effort should be focussed on real, not imaginary, risks, like hot tubs, especially the DIY inflatable ones that rarely have any form of water treatment. There's also a risk from Legionella in kids paddling pools left out in the sun for a few days but we don't see the safety nuts regulating them.0

Hi folks. Just wanted to thank everyone for helping me with a very interesting discussion which I have been following, including the links.
At my own property I have turned down the domestic water setting in my combi boiler to 45C to save energy.
My rented property got a "low risk" in the recent LRA. It's a modern flat with a combi boiler (installed 4 years ago and undergoes annual service and annual landlords' gas safety inspection check) , no water storage tank, so legionella risk is inherently low. The exact wording on the LRA form is that the hot water should reach 50C at all outlets in one minute, which it has passed.1 -
