Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark not raining at the moment although loads of laying water after the heavy rain over the past few days. Forecast is for some drier weather over the coming days, we'll see!
Dinner last night was HM chicken and mushroom pie, mash, peas and gravy, some left for tonight's dinner also.
Work was ok yesterday, today will be busy.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc.
It's been raining overnight but is dry for now. Apparently we are going to have another nice day - we'll see! Washing is on the pulley, will finish it off by the fire later.
That's the school shows over for another year, yesterday's performance was actually quite good and the parents enjoyed it although we had the usual folk looking for tickets but they had all sold out - if only they would read the communications sent to them! I must have taken more abuse over the last week than ever before.
I'm going to visit my friend who had the knee replacement later to keep her up to date with all the news and see how she's getting on. Her DD lives overseas and comes home on Sunday for Christmas so I'll see if she needs anything doing.
Hope everyone's well and scarlet is safely on her way. Take care. XX

Morning folks. All calm outside and only occasional mizzly spells on the forecast. Even some sun!
Our bus trip yesterday ended up in Skipton as expected but by heck it was blooming cold. A few hardy stallholders had set up, mainly the big clothes stalls. I kept a tight hold of my purse with the only spending done on our lunch and compulsory wine and a cs scarf. We expected it to be really busy everywhere but surprisingly it wasn't.
Today I am meeting my DF for lunch at the carvery, booked for 2 pm so hopefully we will miss the lunchtime rush. Whilst I am out I will, all being well, miss the chaos going on at home!! Eldest DGD is leaving her uni digs and moving back home, commuting daily to Leeds for lectures etc. The house share group are not getting along very well and she is also fed up of having no money! The chaos will be my garage once again being taken over by all her numerous bags and boxes. Why does she need all that stuff? Her dad has been pressed into service this time to do all the car loading and ferrying around. All this should be happening whilst I am out but goodness knows what I will get home to.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. I hope SCARLET is up and away safely. Take care all xx

Morning all
Dry here for now but more rain due later, I am off to collect Rob today and take him to work, we are in the cafe today so at least it will be warm.
I have woken with a sore throat this morning so will do a test before I go to make sure it’s not covid, my sister has just had it for the third time after being on a plane so I had better check.
Dinner tonight will be sausage and mash with onion gravy and some veg nice and warming after a cold day. I went into sainsburys yesterday to look at the Christmas meat offer and I got a big bit of beef which was £28 but with a nectar card was £14 and a big bit of pork £18 down to £9, I may go back and get a leg of lamb which is also half price atm, it’s well worth a look and it will freeze well.
I have to nip in the garage today and top up my washer fluid it’s all gone and it’s driving me mad not being able to clean the windscreen.
Have good days all and take care xx

More showers here, yesterday was mostly dry and bright. I don't mind the weather so much as I miss the light, dark mornings and evenings are so miserable. At least we'll soon be at the winter solstice in a few days so it's coming back.Last Friday I got letter from DVLA to renew my driving licence, I did it online and then yesterday my new one arrived, such great service is lovely. Mind you, it's a sign of increasing age!Meanwhile M&S continue with the terrible customer service, I feel as if it's personal now.
I ordered a multi-pack of knickers and yesterday received one single pair. To make me even more annoyed the customer service agent I spoke to insisted that the others must be lost in transit! FFX 🤬🤬 Now they are being reshipped but won't arrive until 02 January though that means 03 January here as we have a bank holiday on 02. I am still furious and have escalated the complaint, had enough of someone on the phone saying 'sorry' and closing it down. A real Grrrrrr.
This morning I have my pool session, that'll cheer me up.10 -

。❅*⋆⍋*∞*。*∞*⍋⋆*❅。Morning! Hopefully the plumber will come today, and I have many jobs today. I took out the massive pack of bolognese sauce I made and will make it into a shepherds ish pie. I made a big-ish saucepan of pasta with some of it, I'll stick that in the fridge to reheat for lunches for the next couple of days for me. Unfortunately, it's got to be eaten, it can't be frozen again. I wish I'd split it into smaller bags but hey ho. And the plumber is coming! woop woop!Gers, that's so annoying, give them hell! Ruby, hope Rob is better now..did you get your mileage sorted? camelot, I wouldn't do your job for love nor money.TA, good shout going out, what the eyes don't see etc....dp1, well that's nice for her, happy moving! nanny, hope you're feeling more with it today...Coxy, they obviously miss you, which is nice...Take care all, turning colder, more blankets required!

Morning everyone
We have a sunny day forecast though it's drizzly at the moment.
After cracker making at nursery yesterday I went into town for my prescription and bought a cute little real Christmas tree. Decorated it when I got home and it looks very pretty though it's got more branches on one side than the other - I probably should have trimmed it a bit but it might have ended up with no branches!
This morning I need to go for some shopping before work.
Little one had the last performance of her nativity play - DD said it was the best of all three. She picked her up from school early so she could have a sleep before having to go back again. Her illnesses mean that she gets really tired - she's often in bed by 5.30 on a school day.
Gers - you're having no luck with M and S just now - hope you get sorted
TA - it's often not worth paying rent if they're only in uni a few times a week and can easily commute from home
Hope everyone has a good day x10 -
Morning all, thanks nmlc.Raining here, it was frosty when I went to bed!.We have warmth! DS friend came again last night to put in the 2nd new circuit board on the boiler- the 1st one was defective that Dh got so he got his money back, went elsewhere and got it £30 cheaper. There was another fault too but all sorted now, we were so grateful. This house was built in 1847, and makes you realise how they must have been cold lots of the time with just a coal fire, they are thick stone walls. Having said that, the house I grew up in was similar, first with coal and then a gas fire, but fan heaters distributed upstairs. I must have been hardier then.I'm going to pop into town later to finish off a few bits of shopping and sort out a veg box for next week. I haven't been shopping for about 2 weeks due to lurgy but feel quite a bit better this morning.TA hope your garage isn't too bad.Scarlet safe travels.Grocery delivery later after tea- I don't usually get them late in the day but changed the time when I added a few things yesterday.Right better get a move on... have a good day all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all
We are recovering here after a late night (1am actually) caused by problems coming home on the M1 last night. A journey that normally takes me an hour took two and a half last night and I have to repeat it again tonight!
Anyway, it was a good evening and, on the way down, I called in to a friend who currently has Covid and collected her Christmas cards and other bits for distribution and left her some pain killers. She was beginning to feel better at that point.
We had another busy day at the Larder, followed by a Volunteers get together for a thank you over at the main warehouse. Seven of us went from our Larder and we were the biggest contingent. It was also good to chat with volunteers from some of the other local Larders and see how they run things. One place runs theirs on a pay as you go cash basis, as they know some people can't afford the £3.50 each week, which I found understandably sad.
@Gers; I think we are of the same vintage, having recently had to change my driving licence! The M&S knickers bit made me laugh and I hope you get some resolution there. I'm also going to feel a lot cheerier after 22 December.
@TravellingAbuela; good luck to DGs on moving home. I hope they didn't sign a contract for 12 months on the accommodation.
Just heard the window cleaner is coming so must make a move. Keep well everyone.

WL yes she did sign 12 month contract but the agency gave permission for her to end it if she found someone to replace her for the remaining 6 months of the contract, which she has. DD is hoping this is all in order and she isn't clobbered with a big bill!!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"7

Morning all, it's a bit drizzly here but quite cold again. Mr Fix It's covid jab went super quickly, blink and you'd miss it and he felt a bit rough last night, he's better today though.
I have put a load in the wm and as usual it will get dried indoors. This afternoon I have my hospital appointment, wish me luck that I don't get lost as it's in the big hospital with many floors, sub floors and corridors 😵 Hopefully we can park ( parking is limited) then Mr Fix It can help me find the right dept........ and my way out 😂
Tea tonight may be from the chippy but we'll see what time we come home.
Gers I'd be fuming too 🤬 Hope you have a better day today.
taff hope the plumber arrives.
TA enjoy your carvery.
Have a good day everyone. Take care, stay warm and dry
