Windscreen scratch removal

So our car now has over 100k miles on it and the windscreen has lots of very tiny chips.  Has anyone used a Cerium Oxide Glass Polishing Kit which claims to make it like new?

Haven’t used the kit, but I expect it would work for removing the sort of scratches you’d get from cleaning with a green scourer, but doubt it could take off enough material to get rid of tiny chips unless you had a power polisher and were at it for hours.

I would doubt it.  I'd a score on a windscreen on a car i was reselling when i was trading and i took to it with a buff and one of those kits.   It didnt work.

All it did was leave an unflat surface that reflected light badly.

New windscreen would be the answer.  Have you got windscreen cover on your insurance?  Or try some local windscreen replacement companies - there are plenty about and they're not as expensive as you might think.
