Civil service redundancy

With regards to civil service redundancy terms. Is redundancy pay based on time in current department or based on total time in civil service. Which is demonstrated by continued membership of the civil service pension scheme. I've worked for three departments over 21 years and there are rumours of job cuts

Not necessarily, depends on if there was a break employment

In your circumstances of 21 years continuous civil service employment it will be based on that, you could have worked in 20 depts and the same would apply.

I stand corrected. I believed you were signing a new contract of employment with each dept even though its continuous service for pension purposes
