Its certainly been common practice for a long time to ask the relationship between the insured and named drivers... we gave preferential pricing to cases where all insureds are close family members rather than more distal relatives or non-relatives.Car_54 said:I haven't added anyone for some years, so thing may have changed, but I've never been asked about my relationship to anyone.
As always, it was done because the statistics said that claims experience was better in that scenario rather than pricing analysts/underwriters pondering the rationale0
