Door hinge screws

I need some screws for a bedroom door hinge. The length of the screws should be about 1 1/2 inches in length.

I've looked online a lot, but I can't seem to find suitable ones. Either the screw head doesn't seem the right type for a door hinge or the length of the screw is wrong, or they are sold in big boxes such as 100 pcs which is too many.

Any idea where to find suitable screws?

Local tool shop might have small quantities or maybe a market stall

Diameter is possibly more important.

Try some where like B and Q , they have loads of choice and ours has a guage on the wall to check diameter and length ,also you can buy them single or a small bag of them.

The DIY sheds will probably sell boxes smaller than 100.  Or try a local independent hardware store.

B&Q do 'pick and mix' bags for £2-3 (?) - good value for money IMO.

Don't use cheap standard woodscrews for hinges, there are one's designed for the job for good reason.

I've always used woodscrews for mounting door hinges. I have a vast amount of countersunk and round head Nettlefolds slotted screws in brass, galvanised steel and steel.

Yes i needed some really long screws to repair my garden fence ,priced a box at B & Q but squeezed more in the pick and mix bag for less money.

Is a 30mm length screw long enough for a door hinge?

Most advice online recommends either a 1 1/2 inch or 2 inch length screw for a door hinge. But most of the Hinge Tite screws sold online are only 30mm in length, which is just over an inch long.
