State Pensioner households are getting an additional £300 Cost of Living payment included with and on top of their usual Winter Fuel Payment. 

(As this has now been paid two years in a row, I await the clamour from pensioners next year if and when this temporary measure is removed ....)

I was happy to get it last year, as Triple Lock was removed, was surprised to get it this year, with TL being reinstated. I’m guessing the two years extra payment might just cover the non TL from last year. By September we might have a new government, of a different colour and Labour have no reason to help the OAPs since rumour has it we don’t vote for them.

I think most state pensioners are only getting £200 on top of the usual £300 Winter Fuel payments, so £500 in total? £600 for the over 80's.

Standard WFP is normally £200 per household so £300 additional.

Four friends and myself meet up weekly for a coffee and round the table this payment comes to £2600,not one of us expects the extra payments next year and no one is to fazed at the thought.The concenus of opinion is it was nice to get at the time but it was only temporary.

Maybe that is because you are not relying on it, and/or take a sensible view of these things.
Many pensioners will not be so relaxed, stoked up by inflammatory headlines in the Daily Express et al.

DH got £500 - first winter state pension payments, we were surprised it was so much and not taxable. Handy for the 25% off 6 bottles. Look like it won't be so generous next year.
