                    Hi Everyone
I looked into joining a diesel claim and after reviewing the possible costs if not winning and costs associated with following the case I decided not to go through with it and did not provide them with the relevant information that would allow them to proceed.
Now Slater & Gordon are claiming that I actually retained them and if I now cancel they will inform me of the implications of this which will be in the region of £150.00.
Is there anyone who have had a similar experience?

The fact that you have not given them enough to fully proceed is irrelevant. What did you actually sign? Did you read the terms and conditions.Bill1964 said:Hi Everyone

Well, you are in a better position than another poster who decided to withdraw their claim later in the process with another law firm and now have a bill for circa £6,000Bill1964 said:Hi Everyone

Conditional funding is only cost free is you proceed to the end and don't win or the solicitors determine you don't have realistic prospects of success. If you win or you want to discontinue then you have fees to pay.
You need to go back and double check what you had agreed to either online or in writing. It certainly sounds like they believe you instructed them hence you've been charged the basic fee for setting up the client file, sending you information and now closing the file in good order.0
