CDER Group harassment

Hi All, I’m looking for some advice on what to do here.

Approx 2 years ago I received a letter from HMCTS stating that I owed £600 in unpaid court fines. I had no idea what this was about, this was the first communication I had received. I proceeded to call them and it transpired that it related to a vehicle that I previously owned and an offence relating to no insurance. However the offence occurred some months after I had sold the vehicle (I’ve always had insurance etc). The DVLA have confirmed that they know I was not the registered keeper at the time of the offence and have sent me a letter to confirm the same. I also have proof of sale documentation from the dealership I sold the vehicle some months before the offence occurred - therefore not responsible.

I have shared both with CDER group yet they still continue to chase me for the debt stating there is a ‘warrant of control’ and ‘further action cannot be stopped’. I had field agents at my door, I’ve shown them the proof and they’ve gone away but yet this seems to keep going round on a cycle and I can’t seem to get it to go away! I’m getting calls and sms all the time and it’s just a nuisance and quite frankly harassment now.

I’ve sent a complaint to HMCTS and am waiting for a response but any advice on what to do next would be helpful…

it’s incredibly frustrating being chased for a fine that you evidently don’t owe or are responsible for and I just want it to go away!

thanks all!

I seem to recall there is a new Code of Practice for bailiffs and maybe the place to start is a complaint to CIVEA:
