Costs after case discontinued

My case has just been 'discontinued'. The law firm involved failed to pay the County Court fee by the required deadline. I was due to appear in January. I have booked the day off work to appear. Can I now apply for costs of losing a day's work? Plus the costs of my time dealing with this law firms spurious claim over the past two years.

No prospect at all on claiming costs, unless a discontinuation is notified within 7 days of the hearing. If there were prospects, this forum would be awash with cases. Any parking charge needs to be dealt with, and there are 'costs' associated with that, but nobody gets them. Sorry.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
