Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark, was wet and windy during the night but not too cold, pouring with rain at the moment, loads of laying water again.
Dinner last night was sausages, mash and LO's of veg from roast. Not sure what we'll be eating tonight.
Work ok yesterday. Have to see what today brings.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Absolutely pouring down this morning, can't see it getting light all day. Yesterday was quite pleasant, the sun nearly came out!
It's the Christmas show this morning then again tomorrow afternoon, the nurseries came along to the dress rehearsal of the nativity yesterday - it was awful! Hoping for a better performance today. It was nice to see the little ones come to visit and they were all so well behaved. I'm going to nip out to see the little one in the starring role of her nativity today - she's Whoops a Daisy Angel - should be fun.
I've two fruit baskets to make up today for raffle prizes before work starts so will have to make a move soon - I've been up for hours already.
Pleased to hear your job is going well Coxy - I have a Mrs Moanalot too who seems to have every illness under the sun.
Belated birthday wishes to you both taff and thanks for all the Christmas dittys.
Hope little Esther was ok at nursery snoozer.
Not long now scarlet!
Oh no Nanny, not a great start but at least your neighbour told you.
Right, I'm off to the shower, take care. XX

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.
It's raining, what a surprise. My Dil in Aus tells me it's almost 40° there and they have something called 'sunshine'. I'll be interested to see it.
I visited my dear old friend yesterday, she was so pleased to see me, as I was her. She hasn't been well over the last few days and is very frail, it gave me a pang if you know what I mean.
My dd and family are all down with a terrible chest illness and they've been keeping a low profile because they didn't want us to catch it. I had wondered why she was so uncommunicative, I knew they weren't very well, but hadn't realised it was this bad. I feel guilty because we haven't helped her as we normally would. We've been busy, and she kept it quiet. Poor things, I feel so bad for them.
I:'ve got a phone appt with the Dr this morning about the recent bladder problems/ investigations I've had, which showed nothing amiss but the consultant wanted me to take a low dosage of anti b's for 6 moonths, so my own Dr will be talking to me about that.
Thank you for the Christmas carols Taff, and belated happy birthday wishes to you.
Coxy, your job sounds so interesting, you've made a good move.
In a way I keep forgetting it's Christmas, we have no tree or decorations up, not worth it. I haven't made a cake or puddings either.
I'm sorry that this is a bit of a moany post, I'll have to brighten myself up a bit.
Hope everyone has a good day though, also sending thoughts to any poorly people.
Take care folks.

Morning folks, thanks NMLC. No rain here whoop whoop! Although it is forecast for later. Yesterday was lovely, but cold despite the sunshine.
CAMELOT have your tissues at the ready! I find it so emotional watching the little ones in panto. SCARLET sorry to hear your DD and family are so ill, I hope they pick up before you go.
We are going to Bradford Alhambra tonight for the panto - oh yes we are!! It's Cinderella this time with the lovely John Whaite (Strictly and Bake Off) starring with "Bernice" from Emmerdale. And Billy Pearce back again for his 23rd season at the Alhambra pantos. The last few times we've gone one or both of the girls have been performing with the Sunbeams but sadly this time they are too old and will be watching enviously instead.
I made my little trip into town yesterday and found myself coming back with a much heavier bag than I intended. I will need to go down again when my meds are ready to collect from B**ts but will keep out of any other shops!
Have a good day folks and have a good day if you can. ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones or fed up. COXY what an amazing job you have now. NAN not a very good "run in" with your new neighbour! Take care all be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning all
im back 😃 we had such a wonderful time, we walked about 8 miles per day so we are shattered and need a holiday 😂 Venice is so beautiful in the winter and every corner you turn around there is another beautiful building or town square, for the final surprise for OH Birthday I booked us a private water taxi from the airport it was a beautiful old wooden boat ( think James Bond ) and we very much arrived in style, we were cruising down the Grand Canal standing in the front of the boat, with people taking photos of us, made us feel like film stars for a while, he dropped us off at the dock of the hotel well worth it such a fabulous experience.
We had meals out in the evening but two in particular were amazing my favourite was scallops with bacon and artichoke purée with confit tomatoes, and grilled sea bass with broccoli cream and roasted tomatoes followed by tiramisu which was the best I have ever tasted 🤤
We bought quite a lot of food back with us a huge block of Parmesan and several other cheeses, dried mushrooms, a huge salami type sausage, lots of sweets for Christmas and quite a lot of pasta 😬
Back to reality today but I have booked the day off as I am shattered, first wash is on the go but will have to be hung indoors, several more to follow, I need to unpack the case and put things away.We need to get the tree this weekend and decorate the dresser, I have all my clients and some friends coming for a little Christmas party next Tuesday so need to make the house Christmassy before then.
Hope everyone is ok will have a read back xxx10 -
Morning everyone
Just a quickie from me as I'm going down to mam and dads to wrap her Christmas presents - it hurts her hands to do them herself. Then I'll get the bus straight down to work. The Nativity play yesterday was lovely - very proud of little one. She looked nervous at first but soon settled into to it though she did have some trouble with her halo! They all did so well.
Camelot - enjoy your little ones play later.
Redruby - Venice sounds beautiful.
Better get moving, hope everyone has a good day Still raining here x11 -
Morning all. The rain woke me up during the night but there's blue sky out there now.
Ruby; what a fantastic sounding trip to Venice. We've been once, on a walking holiday, but that makes me want to go all over again!
Yesterday I spent £55 in Lidl, which is quite amazing for me as it's usually about £25. In my defence I bought quite a few of their frozen Christmassy things, including a veggie wellington, which will be my back up for Christmas Day if the Waitrose one isn't available for whatever reason. Today I'm going to attempt the expresso martini cheesecake so wish me luck! I hadn't realised it needed to be frozen for at least 24hrs so good thing I read the recipe yesterday as I need it for tomorrow night.
Playing music for Carols in the pub tonight and am waiting to hear if I need to provide childcare for 1.30pm whilst DD has to be on a work call - even though she's on maternity leave. Some issues just can't wait, it seems.
Enjoy your day everyone.

It's so lovely to read about your wonderful winter break @Ruby -it sounds glorious, what a treat for your DH. And hearing all about your new work @Coxy is brilliant too, you sound so much happier and the work so much more interesting and varied. That 'jump' was so brave and paid off.@Scarlet - you're not moaning in the least so keep posting until you fly off. It's very considerate of your DD to keep her family away from you so that you can head off well. My DNeice arrived in Melbourne on Saturday with a dreadful cold-like illness which we're all hoping isn't the dreaded virus. She's seeing a doc today.@TA - what a milestone for your DGDs, being too old for the production must seem odd.Happy belated birthday @Taff - and thanks for the cheery wee ditties each day.Yes, it's raining here too, we have a yellow weather warning for heavy rain moving in during the day. I really hope that the workers on the new bypass for the still blocked road to Oban aren't stopped. The new road is due to open on Saturday so fingers crossed. The workers have been like Trojans. The original road will take much longer as debris is still being cleared, a bund being built and then probably the road re-laid.This morning I have my first nail infill. I'm not sure that I like it but it's certainly better than ragged and scabby nails and, hopefully, they are having a chance to grow and strengthen. I'd love bright red nails for Christmas though I'd hate the gaps which appear at the cuticle end so will probably persist with the one nearest to natural despite not liking it. I'm never pleased!
On the way back I'll take the bag of recycling to the local Co-Op which has a big dumpster.
Tonight it's the first Christmas meal out, thank goodness it's an early start and won't go on for ages. It's BYO but I won't bother as driving back in pitch darkness is bad enough without a glass of wine in me. I'll probably take water and save the wine for drinking at home.10 -
Just to confirm we were not the tourists that capsized the gondola 😂 we heard about it while we were there, it was a group of tourists that would not sit down they kept standing to get good photos for instagram 🙄 I feel for the Gondolier as the boats are very expensive and cost a minimum of 40 k.
We did not get a gondola ride as it’s 90 euros for 1/2 hr and we had already had the water taxi, also the vaporetti water buses are brilliant and so efficient we were hopping on and off them the whole time.

Gers, thank you for your kind comments. I'm an over thinker sometimes and get things out of proportion - I think we all do it occasionally.
I suggested to Dd that it might be the virus, since none of them seem to have had a head cold, it's all chest.
Dgd seems to be slowly recovering, dg S just had a cough and was never really ill. Dd thinks she is slowly improving.
Glad you enjoyed your holiday Ruby, it sounds wonderful.
TA hope you enjoy the panto, it'll be a bit strange for your girls, not taking part.
Bye again!!9 -

Hark! The herald angels sing
Glory to the new-born king
Peace on earth and mercy mild
God and sinners reconciled
Joyful all ye nations rise
Join the triumph of the skies
With angelic host proclaim
Christ is born in Bethlehem
Hark! The herald angels sing
Glory to the new-born king"。❅*⋆⍋*∞*。*∞*⍋⋆*❅。Good morning! I do love a rousing carol. We used to go carol singing when I was much younger to raise money for the Leo's [ youth version of The Lions] and I always enjoyed it. I don't go to church or believe but I do love the pomp and the spectacle..and the carols. I'm off to a gc this morning with a friend, we're having lunch out too. She's just had an op and is bored in the house so I'm taking her out and also giving her a curtain so she has something to do...Although I do confess, I am never bored in the house, I can always find something to do. I rearranged most of the back bedroom yesterday, forgot to get the Christmas tree lights out though so I'm going to have to go back and do that at some point because I very carefully stacked everyhting and they are, yes, you've guessed it, right at the back....Ruby, sounds wonderful, Venice is beautiful, I'd love to go around now and see the decorations and stuff. And the food sounds amazing. I'm glad it wasn't you toocamelot, sorry, I had to laugh at your awful comment..fingers crossed for a better performance today
Scarlet, sorry, but it doesn't sound that moany to me, just normal stuff that is a bit more challenging. Hope they recover quickly! TA, have a lovely evening out! WL, the cheesecake sounds awesome, fingers crossed....enjoy the playing. Gers, have a lovely time out and yes, it's always a bit of a push and pul with meals out for me..DO I drive or do I dirnk, am I willing to spend silly amounts on a taxi etc....I usually drive and don't drink now. Food though is more important to me
Take care all, and no need to thank me for the songs, I'm just doing it until tru returns
