TERMS AND CONDITIONS for “Shell Recharge + ABSOLUTE RADIO Competition" (On-Air Competition). 

These terms should be read with our general competition terms at: http://www.bauerlegal.co.uk/radio-competition-terms.html which also apply to this Competition.

 

1.COMPETITION MECHANIC AND HOW TO WIN	This is a pre-register competition to take part in the on-air Shell Recharge competition. (A) In order to be eligible to win, entrants must go online to AbsoluteRadio.co.uk or planetradio.co.uk/absolute-radio and tell us the following details: 1. Full name and contact details 2. What song gets you feeling “recharged” when on the road to your Christmas journeys. Song title and band/ artist will need to be specified. (B) Registering to participate in Absolute Radio’s Sarah Champion’s Show promotion does not provide any guarantee that your request will be selected to participate in the on-air competition or that you will win a prize. Shortlisting and being invited to play the on-air game:   (C) The Absolute Radio production team will draw a shortlist of potential contestants from the pre-registered entries received. Entries will be judged by the Absolute Radio production team, the production manager and an independent judge. Entries will be judged based on the suitability of the suggested song to be played on Absolute Radio. (D) Before each competition round, Absolute Radio will select a shortlist of entries, using the judging criteria above. On shortlisting, Absolute Radio will contact the entrants and we will require those who are shortlisted to coherently explain their entry. The entry must match the entry that was entered online and the judging criteria above. The entrant may then be selected to go to the next phase of the competition, in which they may receive a shoutout & the submitted song choice may be played on-air.   (E) On being called during the entry period does not mean that the entrant has won, and they will only win once being told they are the winner* by the presenter on air.   (F) If your entry has been selected to be played on-air, you must be contactable on the phone number you provided, and on the time and date agreed with the Absolute Radio production team. (G) The Absolute Radio production team reserve the right to choose another contestant from the shortlist if they are unable to contact you. Pre-registration will be open from 11/12/2023 at 00.01 BST until the close of the competition online entry period on 13/12/2023 at 16.00 BST. The competition will air during the Absolute Radio Sarah Champion Show (“the Show”) between 11.00am to14.00, Saturday to Sunday during the competition period stated in section 3.   (H) The presenter will call out the entrant’s name and hometown on-air and may play the song they submitted online to win the prize.   (I) Refer to Section 5 – Prizes, for more information about how the prizes that have been won will be awarded to the winner.   (K) The entrant will only be deemed a winner, upon entry being selected and are told by the Presenter and Absolute Radio production team that they are a winner. 2.ENTRY PLATFORMS AND COSTS	(A)   Registration is restricted to one per person (B)    The only way to be included on the shortlist for a chance to win, is to register online at AbsoluteRadio.co.uk or planetradio.co.uk/absolute-radio (C)   Online entry is free of charge.
3. DATES	Start Date and End Date. Online Pre-registration: from 11/12/2023 at 00.01 (Start Date) to 13/12/2023 at 16:00 (End Date). The on-air part of this competition will take place each day from 16/12/2023 until 17/12/2023 between 11.00 and 14.00.   The winners of the competition will be announced on-air during each competition round. Entries received before the Start Date or after the End Date will be invalid. Please note Absolute Radio reserves the right to remove the competition for an event such as a public holiday.   Winner Announcement. The name and the hometown of the winner(s) will be announced on on-air after each competition round.
4. ENTRY RESTRICTIONS	Open to UK residents. If under 18 years of age, prize will be sent to a parent or legal guardian aged 18 years or over. Proof of age may be required. Our employees (and their family members) or employees of any company involved in the Competition, incl. the Prize Provider, must not enter. Anyone who has won a Bauer competition to the value of £500 or more within the past 6 months on any Bauer Radio Brand, they or anyone living at the winning address will not be eligible to win this competition. If by any chance they get through to the phone lines – any prize they have been successful with will not be awarded. We reserve the right to disqualify any entrant or winner who does not comply with any of the eligibility criteria and/or is in breach of these Terms. We reserve the right to repeat the competition mechanic or any stage of it in order to draw a winner that fulfils all of the eligibility criteria and is in compliance with these Terms. In the event that any of the products listed above are unavailable, alternative products of equal value will be provided; Prize may need to be signed for on delivery and it is the recipient’s responsibility to ensure that all items are present, correct and undamaged; Winner is responsible for ensuring that any delivery notes are checked on receipt; Prize excludes anything not expressly listed above; Due to industry-wide supply chain issues, there may be unforeseen delays to deliveries of physical prizes. Once the winners have passed the winners checks, the winners name, phone number, email and address will be sent in a password protected document to Element and they will be sending the prizes out to all winners.   Prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable and no cash alternative will be offered. Prize is subject to availability The prize excludes anything not expressly listed above Once confirmed, any changes including but not limited to name changes, date changes and route changes will be at the prize winner’s expense.   Element will aim to get prizes to winners within 28 working days from the date suitable ID and proof of address is provided to Bauer Media. However, there may be a delay due to potential unforeseen circumstances and therefore deliveries may take longer. OTHER CONDITIONS

 

1.      DATA PROTECTION. Names, email addresses, and /or telephone numbers (which, for all SMS competitions, will be shared with our SMS provider,) will be collected and used to process entries. Winner’s details may be given to the prize provider to arrange delivery of the prize.  Your details may remain stored after the End Date but will not be used for marketing unless you have ticked an opt-in box on entry or text STOP if entering via SMS. 2.      INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND CONSENTS. By entering this Competition, you are consenting to our use of your entry both to publicise this Competition, our radio station or any other radio station which we own or control. This means that we may use all names, images, descriptions, photographs video footage, and other information, which you’ve submitted on entry, in any media, without paying you and without any time restriction. You also agree that we may film, record or photograph you in connection with the competition and /or the Prize (if you win!). We will own these films, recordings or photographs and we may use them publicly, including on the internet, for our radio broadcasts and/or for any promotional purposes. You will also have waived any moral rights or right to payment that you may have had.

 

3.      MISCELLANEOUS.

a)       Entries that don’t comply with these terms won’t be accepted and you may be disqualified if we think you’ve breached them.

b)       One entry per person.

c)       If there is a dispute about the operation of the Competition or correctness of any answers given, our decision is final and no discussion will be entered into on this subject.

d)       The correct answers to questions must exactly match our answers to win.

e)       We are not responsible if you fail to get through when you call / text to enter, or if you lose signal during a call.

f)         You are responsible for all costs of entry.

g)     You may be disqualified if you are incomprehensible, inaudible or if you appear to be driving, intoxicated or likely to offend listeners.

h)     Whilst on-air, you must not make inappropriate or offensive statements.

i)      As far as it is lawful to do so we exclude our liability for any losses suffered in connection with the Competition.

 

We may end / suspend the Competition if we need to do so due to circumstances outside our control.
