After I had my Garden patioed last year My conservatory floor is soaking wet. I have had builders roofers and plumbers in but it is still gets wet when it rains. I even had a new roof put on the Conservatory but no change. I have spent nearly £3,000 to have it put right and two companies involved. The are now telling me I need a new roof on my house as thats a possibility it may be the problem. I have already paid over a £1000 to have the front part of the roof done. Please help as My husband has just passed away and I am at my whits end.I feel like I am getting ripped off by everyone

Hi Mary.
Could you explain more, please? When you say it's wet, how wet, and where?
Could you add some photos to show where the wetness is, and how bad it is?
What type of floor does it have? I'm guessing it's solid concrete, but what's on top?
Does your conservatory have a dwarf wall?
And could you also add photos to show the patio, including where it meets your conservatory, and some with the Connie doors open to show the levels inside and out?

If the floor is wet because some roof if allegedly leaking, the leaks will be visible.MARYSUE52UK said:After I had my Garden patioed last year My conservatory floor is soaking wet. Mary, photos of the patio and conservatory floors , if you can do it across a floor threshold that would be great. If not where each goes to the external wall so we can see materials and levels.
Do you know how to load the photos onto here?
If not we'll tell you how to do it.
A photo from outside showing the conservatory wher it joins the wall and include the conservatory roof, house wall up to guttering would be useful.
We can't identify your house from that so not to worry.
Easier is how is the floor wet? All over? One spot? Puddles of water or just damp?I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

If the problem has only happened since the patio was laid I would be suspicious that the patio level is too high and breaching the damp proof course of the conservatory. The roofers are undoubtedly trying to rip you off. If the conservatory roof has been replaced and the problem is still there, they either bodged the roof or the water is coming in from elsewhere. Replacing the house roof can't possibly help.

Have you got any family who ccould help you determine where the water is getting in? It's usually easy enough to rig a hose up to spray water over the conservatory roof and then look to see where the water is coming in.
I agree that the patio level is the most likely cause - again it should be easy to see the Damp Proof Course in the walls of the conservatory. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0
