Can I use my own stamps with Tracked 24 or Tracked 48 at the PO counter ?

I need to get a medium sized parcel over 5 kg to portsmouth  from london it must arrive by Thursday 14th dec as the buyer leaves the country early friday15th dec .

Whats the best option using the PO counter early mon morning

I had preferred to use up some old Xmas stamps but that may not be possible .
Can anyone help with options as said I prefer to use the PO counter monday morning if possible rather than mess about setting up a printer that is a pain at the best of times .

I’ve used my own stamps for special delivery, so I can’t see that tracked would be any different. I do think you’re pushing it though to get them there for Thursday – my tracked 48 has taken over a week.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I think with such a deadline - I wouldn't be using that service, particularly this time a year. It's often documented that this is one of the slower services with a confusing name. It's an aim rather than a guarantee. If it MUST be there - then I'd be using special delivery, even if more expensive, otherwise you risk the recipient leaving, and the parcel still being in the middle of nowhere.

I don’t believe you can buy RM48 or RM24 at the post office , it has to be bought online but can then be dropped off at a PO for a receipt.  https://www.royalmail.com/sending/uk/tracked-24

I agree though that RM 24 might get there for Thursday, but in some areas postage has seriously deteriorated and if it is an absolute must then use special delivery. That does assume it fits within the parcel size of course.

Thanks for all informative replys .
The buyer has agreed to pay more but is concerned as its not good news .

I cant see another certain option this close to xmas after reading the replys above though.

Will weigh the medium sized parcel in the PO and get it done in the morning via special delivery .
