If someone's parent dies during the year is it still ok to give them a Christmas card

Hello

AS the title says...

I have a neighbour who lived with her mother; her mother died a few months ago :( She normally gave us a card and chocolates. She gave us chocolates and no card a few minutes ago (sent in by her brother)

I'm not sure what the protocol is; can I still give give her a card and a small present as usual?

Many thanks

prehaps she has been distracted and not been as organised with her cards this year.. i would still give her a card and pressie if this is what you normally do, it will let her know you are thinking of her.

The first Christmas with out someone with whom you have shared your home with for many many years is very very hard. She is probably quite raw.

She is however making the effort .... Do as you usually do.
  • Is she Irish? I know with a lot of our Irish friends it it tradition not to send Christmas cards in the 12 months after the loss of a close relative. It's fine to recieve them though.
