Morrisons savers butter was also £1.69 yesterday for 250g.

Must be a bit of a price match going on, Asda's own is also £1.69 for 250g

And Sainsburys match Asda - I noticed their own brand was also £1.69

I don't like the shrinkflation, but I am a fan of smaller pack availability. I only use real butter for baking, and sometimes 250g is just way too much and I have to either freeze the leftovers or force my partner to eat mountains of buttery toast. I'd be happy with 113g sticks like they have in America, even! Just clearly marked and at a reasonable price.

That said I do have a whole kilo of butter in the fridge at the moment for Christmas baking - £3.50 for 500g from a local dairy.
  • Flora plant based has recently done the same. Price remained the same yet pack size reduced 20% (was 250g now 200g)

Aside from that being an insanely high price rise, it’s the sneaky way they do it.
2 packs bought just a few days (less than a week) apart. During which time they had not only shrunk, but the packaging had changed very slightly. Yet they couldn’t see fit to add a mention of the new pack size. That is what made me so cross.

I bought myself a Kilner butter churner from a John Lewis sale. Haven't used it yet in two years <ahem>. Bought a vintage unused Bel cream maker (still in box) for 50p at a boot fair and have used that a few times.

I think Flora plant based has always been 200g, certainly when I bought it as a new product to Asda several months ago it was 200g.
