absolute proof ebay reps don't understand ebay

I have had several messages from a potential buyer, red flag type questions. Not paying attention I accidentally counter offered an offer from them - and then got more and more questions- asking for extra photos, asking whether marks are a cameral flash or damage- all on a sub £10 vintage item. (I have a full description and 18 photos)
Decided to see if I could remove my counter offer- found a screen that suggested I could and phoned ebay to see if this was the correct way of doing it. Ebay rep was absolutely insistent that a seller has no mechanism to withdraw an offer. I offered him a screen shot of the page I was looking at , which he declined, and he insisted that I was looking at a page for buyers not seller.
We actually ended up having one of those silly polite arguments with 'yes I can withdraw my offer ' no you can't withdraw an offer as a seller' . As I listened to him explain that the system wouldn't allow me do it I clicked cancel offer, confirmed a reason and offer was cancelled - he said that my action were not possible and system obviously thought I was the buyer.
I have now blocked the buyer as well , I just know they were going to be a problem, a couple of recent feedback left for others shows they do like to try and get their money back for odd reasons without returning an item.
