Re-registering as sole trader

Hello I'm in employment (26 hrs) and also was self employed (sole trader) part time.
1 month ago I stopped being self employed, but due to circumstances can I re-register again?
Also in case it happens in the future do I need to register self employed if I'm earning less than £1000 but still employed (26hrs)?

There is no such thing as registering as as sole trader.  If you start trading, you are a sole trader.  If you informed HMRC that you had ceased trading, then tell them that you are now starting to trade again.
  • Thank you so I can just tell HMRC I've started to trade again.
Does anyone know the answer to my second question?

You do not have to inform HMRC if your turnover (not profit or earnings) is less than £1000.

Thank you Mistral, So I understand this clear.
My employed work is £14000 a year, and say I earned £750 (cash) a year house cleaning.
How would I declare my £750 earnings?

If you aren't required to do a self assessment tax return, you wouldn't declare sole trader earnings of £750.

But, when you say you told HMRC a month ago you were no longer going to do any self employed work, I'm surprised they don't want a 2023-24 tax return from you.
