Premier Parking have taken over the CarPark of the local Pub an fined me

Summer House, Worle Weston-Super-Mare now has Premier Parking operating the car park. I took my family there for a meal one late lunchtime, paid my parking fee, and received the parking ticket. I went to the bar and when I bought drinks, they refunded the cost of the parking ticket, which I thought was nice. I was happy until I received a parking fine from Premier Parking a week later. Took the letter into the pub one evening and asked to see the manager, gave the letter to one of the staff, after about 30 minutes the manager John Brown of the Summer House came down, he had the letter and also my parking ticket in his hand. I asked what he was going to do about my fine as I did not break any rules. He said there was nothing he could do and he showed me my parking ticket. He said there were only two digits of my car registration and the rest was missing, which must have been a machine fault. Funny though, he knew exactly where the parking ticket was and who it belonged to. It got a little heated as I said, "You have not sent them my parking ticket; this is why I got a letter." I also showed him the receipt for the meal we had there that day, which I kept. I was not very happy. He said it is Premier Parking that runs the car park; there was nothing he could do. He said, "I will try and sort this out," and took my letter and the parking ticket away. I left the Summer House pub. Today, about a week after the last one, I have another letter demanding £170.00. It looks like the manager, John Brown, has not given Premier Parking my parking ticket and letter together. Now I have neither. It says in the letter that you need the original letter to appeal, which means I will now have to go back to collect the letter and parking ticket from John Brown, and it will not be comfortable as a smack in the mouth usually offends. What I want to know is, will it stand up in court if it goes that far?

No judge is likely to side with the parking firm with the evidence you hold. Who has sent you the £170 charge?  Sounds like a hopeless, hapless, harmless, ignorable dent collector. Read about how to deal with debt collectors in the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, fourth post.

Please tell us which company. There are three that are a bit like 'Premier Parking' and none of them are only called that.

Go back on foot and get your original letters back immediately.  Also take some pics of a lack of signs outside and a lack of prominent notices INSIDE too.  Build your evidence inside and out, and get the paperwork back
