Extra loft insulation, I can't believe it works!

As the heading says, I topped up my loft insulation with rockwool from 200mm to 370mm expecting a small difference if any, but I can't believe how much warmer the house is.
I can feel the upstairs noticeably warmer than downstairs.
Just really wanted to share and see if anyone else has experienced such a marked increase in comfort after adding more insulation.

I like rockwool also because when I laid it it also reduced noise from outside in my bedroom. Don't walk on it though it damages easily1

Absolutely, we just had ours done and the difference is amazing. You do feel it more upstairs as the warm air rises. You feel the heat as you walk from the bottom to the top of our stairs and its almost tropical on the landing, lol.1

Must admit, I didn't notice that much difference. But then I had bigger sources of heat loss to contend with. Replacing draughty old windows made a big difference. Then replaced the loft hatch - A noticeable improvement when that was done, and is something I should have done years ago.

In the summer you should benefit in that your living area will be insulated from heat coming from the loft when we get any heatwaves.1 -

I went from 100mm to 270mm and really could not tell any difference in the feel (or utility bills).4 -
We noticed a difference when I did ours because the draught around the hatch was terrible. It made the upstairs noticeably cold as you walked up the stairs. We also noticed the difference when we insulated our bathroom from the inside. Just 2 inches on the wall and ceiling.1

When we did ours we noticed that the upstairs (particularly) retained the heat for longer, still took as long to get warm but once warm the rooms stayed warm for far longer.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages, student & coronavirus Boards, money saving boards. I noticed a similarly impressive improvement when I had cavity wall insulation installed in my 1930s semi.1
