Theft of eBay parcel from front porch

Ordered a vintage cook book from eBay. Courier dumped it in the porch, instead of putting it through the letterbox. Someone nicked it, despite the CCTV clearly visible and signposted.
In future, I won't buy from eBay unless being sent by Royal Mail.

Have you complained to Ebay?1

Royal Mail used to leave things in our porch all the time if they wouldn't fit through the letterbox growing up... thankfully almost nothing got stolen but we were in a 5 house cut-de-sac so not much passing traffic/people to see it there.1

I have complained to Evri and eBay. Husband will review CCTV and if he gets a clear face pic will email it to police. They probably won't do anything as usual but if enough ppl get things stolen, they might send a PCSO around the area if it's not raining.0

I've had Evri and RM leave parcels on doormat recently.
Left in full view, despite a safe place being available 6 inches to the side (behind bins or in blue bin).1 -
An Amazon order I bought (small parcel with no outer box Just product box with pic) was left on my front door step when I was out. Full view of the road and up a couple of steps so everyone could see.
Needless to say it disappeared. I only knew when I got a delivery email and pic.
I wouldn't mind, but it was small enough to go through letterbox!1 -
I had a royal mail signed for delivery left at my front door for 2 weeks last month, it was delivered whilst I was on holiday for one of the those weeks, but I just rarely use that door so I wouldn't have noticed.
I had 3-4 more royal mail letter deliveries where they would have all seen it lying on the floor soaking wet, but none of them thought to do anything about it, then 2 weeks later a RM postman delivering parcels on a Saturday told me about it.
I checked the CCTV and watched him walk up to my front door, set down the parcel at my door, find a couple of letters and post them through the door and then just turned round and walked off, no card, no knock, nothing.
I also checked the tracking info, it just sad still in transit to recipient1
