Productivity PC

I'm building a productivity PC for programs like Blender, Cinema 4D, and the Adobe suite.

Build is:

CPU: i9 13900ks or 14900k
Mobo: Asus Maximus Hero z790
Ram: Corsair 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 68000MT/s CL40
GPU: 4090 RTX
PSU: MSI MEG Ai1300P

Second opinion welcomed.

What I need help with is CPU choice, Ram and PSU. I heard that DDR5 ram can  be temperamental at higher freqs and is the main reason why builds dont post beyond incorrect installation. And I'm also worried about the 12vhpwr melting issue with 4090 connector.

In term of futureproofing, the most I would do with this build is change to a native gen 5 gpu if necessary.

Advice and second opinion welcomed.

Looks like one of those occasions where a Mac could be the answer, especially one of the Apple M series chips. May not work out any more expensive on that spec.

I dont think the productivity would be as high as a 4090 especially when it comes to programs like blender.

I'm almost scared to ask how much that little set up would cost!

4.5 to 5k. An investment to save me time and money. Nothing worst than doing 3D modelling work and the app just crashes or is incredibly slow.

Hmm...I'm having a hard time finding a good DDR5 64GB kit with with decent freqs and timing.
  • On the specs posted you are building a gaming PC not a workstation.

I haven't done any serious rendering/creation stuff for a long time but from my limited knowledge your proposed system looks easily capable....with one or two caveats!

You don't mention CPU cooling, that beast needs a serious cooling solution when it's running all cores at full tilt.

Storage drives. What are you thinking?
Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!

AIO ryujin for the cooler and 1tb 990 for OS and 990 2tb for primary drive. Will get a third stick when I have extra money.

I'm more concerned about finding some decent 64 DDR5 ram sticks. All of them seem to have high latency.
