Any downside to just moving Electricity to Octopus?

I'm currently on duel fuel with EDF but can't move my gas away due to an ongoing issue (see https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6452074/gas-meter-still-increasing-whilst-gas-isolated-siemens-landis-gyr-e6s#latest)

I now have smart meters (installed yesterday) and recently got an EV and want to move to my electricity to Octopus so I can access time-of-use tariffs.

Can anyone see any downsides to just moving my electricity over for now, leaving the gas supply with EDF until I get the issue sorted?

Can a smart meter setup automatically send electricity readings to one provider and gas to another (although my gas readings are reaching the IHD, they are not yet reaching EDF)?

I believe smart meters can deal with split suppliers. Even if it doesn't work, the worst case scenario is that you'll have to do manual readings for the gas.

No problem whatsoever we split our providers a few years ago, and have just electricity with Octopus.
