Cancelled Car Insurance Young Driver

Hi, I’m looking for some advice and recommendations if anyone has been in a similar situation.
My daughter passed her test in June and has been doing well on a Black Box policy, but when we moved house she forgot to inform them. Her mistake, and a tough lesson, but I don’t know how to get her back in the road for a reasonable cost, we have had quotes from ‘ apparent specialist’ in this area of between £9-10k. She’s 17. She was also told yesterday that this is in her record forever and not to be a named driver on my insurance as it was fronting. I do understand this can be an issue but surely not if she’s only driving my car a few times a week?
I really am struggling to find a fair insurer so any suggestions would be great. Thanks

Fronting is where Mum/Dad buy a policy in their own name stating they are the main driver and add their kid as a named driver when in reality the kid is the only driver of the vehicle other than maybe when juggling the cars on the driveway.
If you are honestly the main driver then there is no issue with her as a named driver but expect to be challenged in the event of her having a claim to prove you really are the main driver. Obviously helps if you use the car for commuting and have a season ticket for parking at the station/works carpark etc.
Even as a named driver it will have to be declared that she has had a policy cancelled for non-disclosure which will mean the increase for adding her will be more than if she had a clean slate.0 -
So the policy that was cancelled was her own policy in her own name for her own car?
And the fronting aspect has only come into play because you are now trying to get insurance for her as named driver on a policy belonging to you.
Whose car are you attempting to get a her as a named driver?
