Can anyone recommend a second home insurance company?

Direct line will no longer offer me second home insurance because they have changed their acceptance criteria, consequently I need to find an alternative and wondered if anyone can recommend a company?

So, did you have a contract and they cancelled it?? Or you were still in the process to subscribe?

I just got a letter from Direct Line saying they no longer offer second home insurance. Has anyone found a good provider for such a policy? DL recommends AJ Gallagher, whomever they are!?!

Yeah, Direct Line recommended them to me, I went with them last year, then this year they stipulated that I had to leave the hatch to the roof PERMANENTLY OPEN!!!  The documentation was terrible, one continuous wall of text, so I changed and went with SJL Insurance Services, the guy there was very helpful in determining the type of front door lock that I have, although there are no bolts top and bottom, it is double locking.
