How to get gas meter readings from Landis + Gyr E470 SMETS 1

Does anyone have one of these?

I've tried to get a gas meter reading from it, but to no avail. British Gas said that I should keep pressing A until I get to METER INDEX, but sadly no such thing comes up. I've found this thread about this type of box on an OVO forum, but sadly they don't seem to have an answer (I've got the bottom box with the black frame around the screen).

It's mad to me that it seems almost impossible to get a gas meter reading!

you wont get a gas reading from that because it's an electric meter.

Have you tried your gas meter?

Have you a picture of your gas meter?

Landis and Gyr have this weird habit of naming all their meters E470.  It just confuses everybody.
