The fund firm Somerset Capital Management is going to close, the details are given in the link

SCM specialized in emerging markets and its funds have not performed well recently. It's interesting that the failure happened when St James Place withdrew their assets. The closure will be orderly and investors should be ok. I think this highlights several issues that retail investors should consider: SJP is getting pressure from regulators about it's costs so fees matter, funds do fail, EM is riskier than many other sectors, don't put all your eggs in one basket.
And so we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.

Somerset went off the boil years ago.  They had a good spell but it didn't last.  SJP late to the party as they were with woodford.

The article basically says that SJP was one of the few people at the party and when they left it was time to pick up the glasses and do the washing up. Sounds like a pretty rubbish party.
