N.I.P not arrived due to royal mail service

Hello, I'm just asking for a bit of advice on what to do.
Last week I went past a camera van, this was on a dual carriageway going 70 into a 40 the van was watching right at the 40 sign and I'm an idiot who just let the car slow down naturally instead of going straight to 40 at the sign checked by dash and I doing 60 when I passed the sign and about 54 when side by side to the van 🤦🏻‍♀️

So if course I'm expecting a ticket any day now however I've now received a email from royal mail to tell me postal service has been disrupted, I have not received any post in a week and no idea when I finally will start recieving post again.

Is there any other way to see if I've gotten a ticket yet?
What do I do if my post continues to not arrive and I miss the time limit on responding to the ticket?
I don't want to get in even more trouble for ignoring because royal mail has stopped posting out letters and parcels 😫

Quite simply: no. You have the email from RM to use as mitigating circumstances though.

As we major on private parking tickets here, PePiPoo will be your best bet for police tickets. If you do receive a ticket, register there but please note that a hotmail address won't work - try using a throwaway gmail account instead if you do have trouble registering and post a new thread; here's your link:
Have a read through some of the other threads and use the NiP Wizard there before you post your own to get the hang of what information they need from you in your opening post - but as a minimum you will need to post redacted photos/scans of all correspondence you've received from the police (both sides, if appropriate) as they need to see all the small print.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • If the van was recording you face on and was "right at the 40 sign" then they could not have captured you in the 40mph limit

Sorry I mean the 40 sign is where they very first are able to see me, so after the 40 sign I'm still driving towards them for about 5 more seconds
