Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.
It seems to be ok outside, cold, but dryish.
Not much going on today except the dreaded packing. Gers, as you said yesterday, anything you forget is easily bought there. I've got a lot of stuff out, I'm now deciding what I'll take.
Dh decided to come into Durham with me yesterday, we took the car halfway then used the park and ride.It was so cold though, there was a bitter wind. We weren't there long, went to the bank, then into Bo*ts, then back to the bus stop.
Hope everyone has a good day today thinking of any poorly or sad people
Take care folks, keep warm.

Morning All
No frost this morning but it is sleeting - hoping Ruby is having better weather.
Washing all put away from yesterday and the DW emptied. Must get a Christmas tree soon as the decorations are all in the front bedroom and are annoying me being out!
The little cheap pantry was open late yesterday so I popped over there to get some bargains, lots of free fruit and veg too.
Happy packing scarlet, always difficult choices to make!
Glad there's nothing to worry about Nanny.
Coxy I love Elf, always cheers me up.
Hope your painters finish soon Gers.
Christmas Jumper day today so I'll wear something cheery!
Take care. XX7 -
Last night the wind became very noisy and battered around the house, it's still going now. The temperature is 7°, a good improvement from the past seven days. The painting is finished, thank goodness, all the paintings are back on the wall and my sinuses are giving me gip. The guys worked well and were very clean, one of them does all sorts so I'll get him back to take away trash from the back garden and clear the gutters.Today is pool day, that'll upset my sinuses even more, which I'm really ready for. I'm going to make some Parmesan shortbread before I go, the dough has to go back into the fridge before baking. They're for a friend who has organised our annual outing to a Christmas panto in Glasgow. The panto (loose description) only lasts for an hour, is held in a lovely bar and has what's called 'adult themes'. 😀10

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. It's calm outside for now but, apparently, heavy rain is promised for later. Yesterday was a lovely sunny crisp day but, by heck it was blooming cold waiting at the bus stop out of the sun. I am meeting my DF for lunch, postponed from Tuesday, but I know to my cost this can be cancelled at short notice! I am planning on wearing my fluffy pink jumper with a sparkly star on the front. DF will probably look askance as she isn't one to look festive! I'll give a quick once over to the kitchen and bathroom before I go to lighten the load for tomorrow. The DGDs duly arrived starving yesterday after school. I had settled, with some trepidation, on gnocchi in a cheesy bacon and chicken sauce as a total change from the Bol Bake. This was wolfed down and the bowls almost licked clean but they said that, although they had enjoyed it, it didn't knock the Bol Bake off the number 1 spot! Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and poorly loved ones. Happy hokey-cokey packing SCARLET. Take care all and be safe xx.

Morning all. No rain or frost here so far so must be onto a winner!
I popped up to the Larder yesterday morning and, by chance, it was a good day for food. We get totally random stuff delivered but yesterday I picked up fresh M&S tomato and basil soup, fresh pasta sauce, Knorr chicken stock pots, apples, broccoli and avocadoes amongst other things. We had the pasta sauce last night as I was a bit short on time for cooking.
The rest of yesterday was spent at DD's, mainly looking after 9 week old DGS, so that his parents could get on with other things. This morning I've ordered both DGSs a hanging tree decoration with their name on, so hope they arrive before too long.
My shorter wine glasses have arrived unscathed so I now have to wash them and put them away in the cupboard. We only had 5 wine glasses left, apart from a box of gaudy ones I was given as a gift many years ago and are kept as emergency spares.
Hope everyone's day goes well.9 -

Oh, the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go
Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!…。❅*⋆⍋*∞*。*∞*⍋⋆*❅。Morning! And the weather truly is, very very windy, everything is being bashed about...I may or I may not go shopping today for last minute bits but I definitely have decorate on the cards, go all artful draping and stuff...!!!!!!, just remembered, I do have to go out to go to the post office which I forgot about until just now, so I'd better get on google and find one. And take the pork out. That's it...Take care all today...it's not very nice out there...

Morning all, it's due to be a wet and windy day with a weather warning for heavy rain later. My day didn't go as planned yesterday as some old friends called in while I was putting the shopping away and we chatted for about 2hrs, then Dad arrived with the birthday wrapping paper I'd left in his car and stayed for a cuppa too, so now I'm really behind with what I need to do.
Today I've already had a call from hospital appointments which my secretary took 😁 (I was still asleep) so I'm now waiting for a call back later. I have mountains to do, including clearing away the decs, wrapping DD's present, hoovering and getting the dining table ready for my guests who are arriving later to celebrate DD's birthday, she's 40 today 🎈🎂 ! Mr Fix It will collect the DGC from school while I start on the cooking. Blimey I'll meet myself coming back at this rate and just when I thought retirement was a supposedly leisurely time.
RedRuby and Mr R hope you are having a lovely time in Venice.
Right I'd better get some breakfast and make a start.
Take care all

taff, I need to take the pork out too, I hope I can find the half fillet I put in the freezer along with the full one. Laura has just taken the little one for her nursery settle but she is teething vigorously atm and isn't happy with anyone except L (the exception being if you play music to her, The greatest Showman and Moana being her favourites). Nate is the same, music can entertain him for hours and Esben was just the same. The musical gene skipped me but my father was a semi-professional sax player in the band and his uncle was a band leader who used to appear on the wireless in it's early days. Steve is very musical and Laura played flute and violin to a high standard so the kids come by their love of music honestly.
I too am meeting friends for coffee TA and it has been postponed for the last two weeks for various reasons. We thought that it would be easy to find dates to meet but it isn't proving that at all, we are all busy in retirement.
I need to go and get on while the house is child and nearly adult free.
Scarlet have a lovely holiday and Ruby, enjoy your break.
TA, my paragraphs occasionally disappear as well.
Have a good day.9 -

Morning all, rained hard in the night, seems ok atm.Apt song for todays weather taffShopping delivered & all put away, I have several deliveries due today - just as well I cancelled lunch with oldest friend due to much snottiness on my part, never used as many tissues! The 2 bedside tables have just arrived, and a parcel for DS. The headboard should arrive this morning too. Can't move in the hall, and DH and DS2 have gone to look at a job way further North on the M6, a friend of a friend so they'll be gone the best part of the day, then DH is out for a pint tonight. One of his friends has come back from Spain( they have a place there) and wants to meet up.I must try and move some boxes upstairsPlenty in the fridge for later, not decided what yet.Snoozer, we had that difficulty when we tried to arrange the meet up with old school friends. Most of us had either school pick ups to work around, or days unavailable due to childcare, finding a mutually available weekday took ages!Right, better get something done, even if it's finish the cards I need to post. Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)8
