Balance transfer error

Options
Just received a new credit card for which I forgot I had asked them to do a balance transfer and then the day later made a balance transfer myself from my old credit card. How can I get this resolved? Can I ask them to refund and which company would be able to do that for me, the original credit card or the new credit card that made the balance transfer twice?

Comments

  • When you did the second balance transfer, did that then put your old card into credit?  If so - and depending on the amount - lots of credit cards will automatically refund the credit balance back to the source of the funds (in this case, your new card).
If it hasn't automatically been refunded then give your old card company a call and ask them to refund the credit balance.  I'm pretty sure they'll put the refund back onto your new card (I think they have to refund to the original source due to money-laundering rules), but just ask them to confirm this.
