Time to report non-receipt of item

I’ve bought a fairly expensive item from a retailer.   Currently they haven’t even marked it as despatched more than a week after purchase.  

Hopefully won’t be necessary, but I see I have 30 days from expected delivery date to claim item not delivered.  I can’t actually see the estimated delivery date, is this because they haven’t ‘despatched’ it yet?
As an aside there is ‘returns allowed’ deadline mentioned on the purchase page. Of course this time is being eaten up currently, so is this something that is enforceable?

Somewhere in your order page under purchases it should show an estimated delivery date , that depends on how quickly the seller has stated they will send and the postage you choose. If it doesn’t show, and it is sometimes hidden away, have a look at their current orders, they should show under postage the despatch time seller said they use, and of course you know the postage you choose, so you can do a quick basic estimation from that. 

EBay estimates are a bit daft though, half mine show a delivery date that is the same as my last estimated despatch date but at least you will get an idea. 

If item doesn’t arrive then you have 30 days from the last estimated delivery date to report an issue. You have plenty of time yet, and before even considering opening an INR perhaps send seller a brief message just asking if item has been sent as according to your purchase page it shows as pending. You are also well in Time for any SNAD claim , but I’d check whether selelr has fast despatch or not and take it from there.

If there isn’t an ETA at all I think you have 30 days from the payment date.

Have found the date now, wasn’t visible on the app but could see on PC.  

Have received a reply from the seller saying sorry I haven’t received the parcel (well I won’t if they haven’t sent it) saying they need to create a duplicate order.  Not sure what’s going on their end, but I’ll raise an INR next week if nothing transpires just to cover me
