Struggling pensioners. Smart meter fitted over 6 yrs ago. Fault from beginning, never showed both gas and electric. Buck passed between SP and subcontract fitters. Never resolved so we rely on having to go online each day to see our charges. For the last week we haven’t been able to get the data, just a spinning disc trying to connect. Phone, don’t be ridiculous!! At wits end.

If you have a smart phone you can get data using an app like Bright, but it sounds like the 'in home display' never worked but you can still read the actual meter on the wall, With Gas you have to press a button to turn on the screen.

O agree with markin. It sounds as though your gas and electricity meters are both working correctly, measuring your consumption and reporting it to your supplier.

The fault appears to be with your IHD. Either the device itself is faulty or it hasn't been properly registered on the Home Area Network by your supplier.
