Raisin Bank - withdrawals blocked due to 'technical issues'!

I've experienced the same as ironchic.
You deposit funds, you select to invest in a product and for a day it "disappears" then the next working day the new account is displayed. It's not very reassuring and they really need a status such as "being transferred" or something
Remember that raisin is non-standard/difficult for the smaller banks they integrate with. Behind the scenes at GB bank or El banco Bogota there's probably one admin person with a spreadsheet who occasionally is off sick or forgets to process it
So you never know if it's raisins systems or the provider0 -
Atom is Durham-based, so nothing unusual about another challenger bank in the same region not calling themselves by a local name.I see it rather as an aspirational name that demonstrates their ultimate ambitions to serve the UK from the Northern Powerhouse, which is a strong statement. When you think about it, there’s a lot in a name and pros and cons to all approaches to naming. While many locally-based names have spread beyond their eponymous heartlands, like Coventry, Yorkshire, Skipton, they can evoke both status as a building society, which this organisation is not, and postcode restrictions, as we know with some smaller BS and credit unions etc. If they want to attract deposits nationally they have to think about these things.Northern Bank has unfortunate echoes of Northern Rock, and names such as Nationwide reflecting wider ambitions are already spoken for! If you say ‘Teesside’ most people think of the airport. Not an easy thing to do, name a challenger bank.I’ve seen them on HL as well as Raisin, so using platforms looks like a soft launch of their early national funding strategy as they are very new to the savings market.
And to get back to the OP’s question, I haven’t put any money in Raisin at any time. Their interface is clunky and it’s useful to hear about ‘disappearing’ account displays as it’s needless stress for the customer - it’s real customer feedback on a situation that most IT departments would be keen to avoid and design out. I wouldn’t like it and it’s an outlier in the market. I use HL on occasion and they don’t put their savings platform customers through that stress.0 -
Hi thanks for your comments above , I've also noticed in the past that money disappears temporarily off screen when moving between accounts and also noticed delays in money being moved into and out of accounts but put up with this . But I never had all the money just vanish from all my Raisin savings accounts online both fixed bonds still mid term and so called "easy" access and reduced to just £0 balance showing in my account for no reason until this December , and now again just a month later. So this is very far from a standard thing . As a result of these technical issues I have now been locked out of accessing my funds for over a week now and counting , in December it was several days. I did not bother raising formal complaint in December just messaged online to enquire which took them a week to reply to , but this time have raised a formal complaint . However despite being denied access to my funds for over a week now they can still give me no idea when the problem will be fixed or tell me if there is any other way I can access much needed money whilst they fix the problem , they have not even replied to my repeated requests just to provide me an up to date balance on my accounts - which is obviously not £0 as shown on their system , all in all I could not be more disappointed and alarmed by their service and apparent lack of any urgency to fix this problem or help you. It is obviously not just me suffering these issues as alarmed at hearing about my problems a relative of mine checked their Raisin account today and loo and behold they can not access their "easy " access savings either. In their case it is not quite as an alarming a problem as mine as at least their savings are still appearing on the overview screen whilst mine are not , but when they click on the page to actually view their savings product details the screen just goes blank which of course means they can not make any transactions . They have also now reported this problem to Raisin, but given my experience I am advising them not to hold their breath ! So please if you have a Raisin account check it and as previous commenter mentioned get into a habit of regularly doing screen prints in case your savings are no longer visible online like mine for a long period of time. Note Raisin did advise me to try using the App instead ,as usually I login via their website , but this made absolutely no difference and if anything their App seems more glitchy then their website the screen was even blinking at times1
