I'm not sure the lenders see it instantly, but maybe they do?

A few years ago I was getting a loan for a car and got approved on 2 x 25k loans at the same time. Both had the same very cheap interest rate, so I ended up accepting the instant one from my bank, while rejecting the other offer.

Usually you are offered too much credit when you don't need it.

If I’ve made an application in recent years I’ve instantly had an email notification from someone like Credit Karma/Clearscore that a hard search has been placed on my account - it’s very likely these are recorded instantly and seen by all lenders.

that said it all depends on the company, your profile and their demands as to if you are accepted or not

I applied for two NatWest cards back in August with two days in between, and was instantly accepted for both. I also had about three hard searches at that time and it went through fine. I had also applied for Amex and Barclaycard back in April 2022 in the same month and was accepted.

I honestly don't think there's much of an issue. Some banks will like you while some will straight up reject you. HSBC rejected me two years ago but then Aqua and Amex accepted me a few days later. Even two years later, HSBC are still rejecting me with their eligibility checker.
  • In August 2020 my OH applied for 2 credit cards and a loan on the same day, immediately accepted. Last year in October I decided to restart stoozing and applied for two 0% interest on purchases credit cards  on the same day, both accepted with no problem.

Recently applied to upgrade the existing Lloyds card to Purchase Card - rejected; a few minutes later applied for new Natwest 0% BT card - accepted; next day applied for HSBC 0% purchase card - accepted. The latter two with decent credit limit, over 10K.
