Mine does it all the time, what meter have you got. Mine is a Landis and gyr smets1. I have been not seeing readings on octopus for 2 weeks, and it’s been doing this for 6 mths. Have you got an IHD? I don’t think it’s the battery because the manual meter reading still shows and the IHD is working and correctly displaying the gas usage.
This gas meter has always been ropey - it loses several hours of data every week or two, but now it seems to have completely stopped.
The electric meter seems to be working find and reporting data continuously.0 -
As long as you can read it, then you will be able submit readings, and your billing will be fine. I asked for a new meter in may but haven’t been contacted yet. I also have SMETS1 meters upgraded onto the network earlier this year. Same make as mentioned.
Gas stops sending data periodically, electric meter works fine.
After much back and forth with Octopus I'm told it's a known fault with the meter, there are currently multiple agencies working on a solution and as a complex issue no fix expected anytime soon.
They are still getting reads every 24 hours so I'm being billed correctly, but the half hour data officially is unavailable, unofficially I get it sometimes.
It can work for 2 weeks, then not for 5 days, work for a few more then it's gone for several weeks again.0
