UPDATE from 25 minutes ago - from Park Direct UK

    Hi Gavin

I hope you are well. We can confirm that Premier Inn are paying the tickets and you are not liable for any of the PCN's.

    Kind regards

Premier Inn have also made a change to their website - though not the one I was expecting (removing the free parking, that's incredibly still there). They've removed the TripAdvisor review section from all of the hotels. I thought I was going mad at first but I've checked a couple of other random ones and it has indeed disappeared.

  • Looks like Premier Inn have finally realised they have a problem at this site and the negative feedback has made them see sense. Sounds like they have a stupid contract and are unable to cancel PCNs for genuine customers and are having to pay themselves. Could it prompt them to look at the contracts they have on other sites.

    Well done.

    Wow.

The infestation that THEY caused has made Premier Inn take the truly STOOPID decision pay their agent's fake PCNs off to 'protect' guests. The Co-op tried that idea years ago (different PPC). It backfired on them.

And they've pulled their TripAdvisor link? From all hotels across the UK, because they don't want potential guests reading about what they are inflicting on drivers?

Instead of simply pulling the rug on Park Direct?!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    GavHTFC said in the OP:

     ...onto the current manager:

it's safe to say she is at her wit's end with this whole situation. She was brought in a few years after McMoron signed away their ability to do anything. We were on the phone for what felt like half an hour with her just unloading about the whole situation, the lack of support from HQ, the fact that she's the one bearing the brunt of the complaints and absolutely powerless to do anything about them. I went into that call thinking "you're lying to me" and came away thinking "Christ, she really has been put in a spot here!"

I made sure to film myself entering the reg so it couldn't be disputed later on that I had done. I always do this and recommend that you do to if you aren't already.

Amazing that you took that video.

I also take photos on the odd (rare) occasion that I have no choice but to use one of these "scammers' paradise" keypads.

How about taking this to the press next?

The Daily Mail will love it. And it would be great to get that Manager on record explaining why they've paid PCNs that you (allegedly) DID NOT INCUR because your video proves it

I did send this in to them but haven't heard back :( I was rather looking forward to pulling out my best "holding letters in front of car" pose!

  • We just received two parking notices after following all the instructions given, ie enter car reg on check in, park in purple spots. I should’ve known to avoid after reading the reviews left by others on Google. On top of that it was a hire car who are charging us admin fees nearing £90.

@petal87 do you have a question that isn't answered in the NEWBIE sticky?  If so, please start your own thread as it can get confusing trying to answer two posters on the same thread.
  • @petal87, Hire car PCNs are the easiest ones to beat. Start your own thread and help will be forthcoming

@petal87 please do get your own post up on this because I'd love to follow it! Though like troublemaker22 says, hire car PCNs are, dare I say almost trivial?
  • Oh I 100% won’t be paying these fines, based on principle and also the fact our rental car company charged us £90 as an admin charge due to these fines. We were looking into rebooking this hotel for next year, pity.
