What the best website for book cheap internal flights in the USA please?

Book direct with the airline. You can probably find with easy the airlines flying between your unspecified departure and arrival points.

Google flights will give details of airlines flying between the destinations.

Use a flight comparison search like Skyscanner or Google Flights or Kayak to find your best options. But don't click through and book with an agent, go direct to the airline's website.

Much like in Europe checked luggage will cost extra so factor that in.

Also check Southwest as I don't think they always show on the comparison sites. They also include checked baggage.
