It’s unfortunate but there is nothing you can do about it. You can’t have your name ‘removed’ - if it’s common name there could be many different matches. It’s also unlikely though not impossible, to be an issue elsewhere in the world. 

Just go straight to the desk next time. If you are challenged then just say your chip is broken, most people won’t make you try the egate. 

I’m assuming it’s a U.K. passport?
