Visa/Mastercard are well aware of these.HillStreetBlues said:
The scammers use fake tracking.born_again said:
If they have proof, then case lost. But if coming from oversea's unless using one of the good couriers. Then tracking ends long before than & would be contested on the basis of it has not been delivered.HillStreetBlues said:
They can supply a link where tracking info states it's been delivered, but there will be no proof such as a photo.born_again said:
If you payed by debit or credit card. Call bank for a non receipt chargeback. That will call their bluff on delivery. As the only way to reject is prove delivery.Boosta88 said:I only paid £35 so not much - it was the priniciple more than the cost that irritated me.
Thanks for all your comments - i think i will take the 50%.
What do banks do in that case?
Scammer A sets up a fake parcel website that has fake tracking. Scammer B pays scammer A and gives scammer A address details. Scammer A then waits awhile and then marks parcel as delivered. Scammer B then claims it's be delivered.Life in the slow lane0 -
I had the exact same issue with an item I ordered from eartkemade.com! Tracking said it was delivered on 11/13. I messaged eartkemade several times. They at first said it had been delivered so, basically, it was not their problem. I asked them to provide me with the USPS tracking number (I had sent item to my son who is posted overseas, and a USPS # would have had to be assigned at the time the item was shipped from China). After repeated requests to provide this number, and failure to do so (and they offered me 30%, 40% and 50% (final offer) refunds), I contacted my credit card company to report the problem, and I my credit card company immediately refunded the money I spent! I will never order from China, again! Lesson learned!0
