in Credit cards
Cant remember the last time i paid a credit card bill over the counter in cash im thinking it should be credited to your account straight away but not sure.
My bill is due 01/01/08 so to avoid a late payment-and there are 3 bank holidays in the meantime-im thinking i'd better pay first thing on Thursday morning.
Does anybody know if a cash payment goes straight in ?

Nah....... I suspect it takes 3-5 days normally 3 days if you do it before 12. It also depends what company your with. Capital One are very slow almost to the point of daylight robbery! Others like Egg and MBNA are pretty good at getting your payment through quickly.0

I doubt it - just possible if your card is with the same bank as you pay in at but even then... Well I'd say it was iffy.
If it's with another bank - definitely not.
Can you pay by internet banking? That's probably quickest.0 -
If it's an Abbey credit card and you pay in cash at an Abbey branch, it will come off immediately.0

Ta for that Tipsy it is an Abbey card but im surprised, their customer service is absolutely puce since they became part of the Santander group.0

I know, it's horrific.
I was in the same position as you the first month in to a 0% deal. I'd set up a DD but no one at Santander could tell me if it would definitely be active in time, so I made the minimum repayment over the counter too. The girl said it would come off immediately and I've since had a statement to prove it. Just make sure it's cash and you'll be all right!0
