I'm picking something up from fbmp at twelve ish and I have some slippers ot send back for OH, they're a bit small, so I've asked for an exchange. The thing I'm picking up is a fiver and I reckon I can upcycle it and sell it for a bit more [ok, six times as more], I've decided next year my goal will be make as much money as I can and I'm utilising my rumptopf jar as a money box...Unsurprisingly, I didnt get round ot filling it with goodies, but as I have a jar of cherries in alcohol, no biggie. I tore off two of the windowsill bits yesterday because I wanted to see what was underneath and I fond the original wood windowsills. This means that if the guy I asked to replace them doesn't turn up [ and it's looking unlikely, I can do them myself in January, so I'm quite pleased about that.WL, the walk sounds interesting, I like your rsearch toonanny, glad it passed the MOT. Rosy, sounds lovely, I long for the day when our house is no longer a rat hole [couldn't use a swear word but you get the drift] Gers, that does sound funny. Hope you stay comfortable with or without the log burner on. Lovely to hear of all the decs going up and the trees, I love me some Christmas bling...Have a great day if you can, if you can't, hugs n stuff....

Morning folks. I seem to be bringing up the rear this morning! We are enduring non-stop rain too. All day yesterday and through the night, but at least it has seen off all the snow. It's supposed to be a bit milder but still feels chilly to me.
All change today. Was supposed to be lunch day with DF but we have the hairdresser coming this afternoon as it's the only day she could manage to get round us all. So lunch postponed yet again. My hair is beyond wild but I am hoping she isn't too scissor happy or it might be a shock to the system.
I got all my decs up yesterday with string lights in and around everything. Sadly I had underestimated the number of batteries I needed so more (plus spares) are needed. The way the price of them has escalated I may need to rob a bank on the way!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. RUBY have a fabulous break and the same to SCARLET, but I don't know how imminent your Oz trip is. Take care all, be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"6 -
Hi all and thanks for the start @nmlc x
Glad your snow has gone @ScarletRibbons and hope the packing went okay today x
Good to hear the decorating is coming on @Gers – love the tardis blue front door!
So exciting to be going to Venice @RedRuby1231 – safe journey and enjoy yourselves!
The Legal London walk sounds fab @WickedLady4 J
The tales of little one really cheer me up @dp1 – such a cute age x
Thank you for providing the Carols @-taff x
We too need some batteries for string lights @TravellingAbuela – I usually get the el cheapo ones in £land as they aren’t needed for very long.
Wards rounds yesterday and a session in the Command centre as the hospital is full, so was a really interesting meeting to see what goes on. I attended an outpatient breast clinic this morning with a lovely consultant who didn’t mind me asking questions. I will attend her theatre session on Friday morning and need to be on site for 7.30am to experience the full patient journey from booking in to going under eeek. Feel like I won’t get the chance again, so will go for it!
DH is missing me loads and is already saying he might look for a new job in the new year. He is a real people person and is struggling with no one to talk to. Either that or we get a dog!
Dinner is SW diet cola chicken with rice, then we are off to the cinema to see Elf! Will be a laugh as we love Will Ferrell!
Hugs to all those in need and hope to get on earlier tomorrow!

Coxy, your new job sounds really interesting. If I had my time again I would like to become a doctor. It wasn't something that even occurred to me in my teens, it just didn't happen to people like me. Just going to university was an achievement (me and my brother were the first in our huge family to go) and some relatives thought it was a waste of time for me as a girl.6

@snoozer - My mother was the first to go to university in her family. Everyone tried to talk her out of it. Her brother followed her - and then all the younger cousins decided to go also - and most ended up getting their Doctorates in Education or Religion. I only got as far as my Master's Degree in Library Science - but I am still taking classes. I think we all caught the education bug. But my mother was the brave one. Her mother had to drop out of school when she was twelve.6
