Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark, much milder but now wet and lots of laying water, rain is forecast for the coming days.
Dinner last night was beef stew and dumplings, LO portion to go for DH's lunch. Not sure what we'll be eating tonight.
Work ok, will see how today goes.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.
It's raining here, all the snow has gone, but it's never stopped raining since yesterday.
I went to the Book Club in the library yesterday and afterwards we went for lunch at a little restaurant further down the High street, we always do this at this time of year. It was nice, we all enjoyed it.
This morning we're visiting a house bound friend with a little bit of shopping that she wants, then back home. I have plenty to do here, we'll start packing today I think.
Hope everyone has a good day today, whatever you are doing.
Thoughts to any poorly or sad people. Take care folks, stay warm and dry.11 -
Hi everyone,
I woke with cramp in my shin and foot so I came down to take some magnesium. I might as well stay up now because I will be taking Steve to the golf club as soon as it is light. Esther was supposed to have a nursery settle again but that may not happen again. B and L are off to work and this afternoon I'll be going to look after Nate while Crystal has an appointment.
We got the tree up, just the rest of the decorations to go now. Esben helped and I resisted the urge to move any of the ornaments he put on, it looks fine. Cleaner is coming today so i won't do anything else until later, it would be a bit difficult with Esther anyway.
Have a good day.11 -
Today is meant to give us a short respite from the intense cold so my fingers are crossed for that. Because the front door was open all day yesterday being painted had the woodburner on. The guy working upstairs did all the patching, a bit of stain blocking and then all the cutting in ready for todays emulsioning. Tomorrow will be the woodwork I expect, not gloss but eggshell as I prefer it.I didn't go out yesterday so will do that today. The rubbish does need to be taken away.Snoozer - when do you leave?
Scarlet - enjoy your time with Nate.11 -

Morning all
Cold and dreary here and more rain due later, I have two coming today as one person is poorly so we will decide what to do when they get here. I do have to collect the currency this morning so will get that on the way out.
Wnen I get back later I need to finish packing and get everything ready, it’s mostly done but just a few bits to go in, we need to leave home at 5 tomorrow morning so I want to be ready tonight.
Dinner tonight will be chicken casserole with rice, dd is off today so will prepare it and put it in the sc, I need to run the hoover over before my guests come today.
Scarlet when are you off to Aus ? Xx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning all, the car passed the MOT yesterday but now the brakes are getting rather too hot so Mr Fix It will hopefully get it up on the ramp today, benefits of having an ex-trainee who runs in a garage I suppose. I have a GP appointment this morning so Dad will give me a lift as the surgery is at the bottom of the village and the walk back is 2 steep hills all the way.
Yesterday we managed to put up the tree, the fireplace garland and hang the stockings, now there are just a few more bits and bobs to place and the boxes to put away today. I'm not sure about tea yet but there's plenty to choose from.
Take care all

Morning all. Grey and wet here today.
Yesterday's walk was about 2 hours and it stayed dry, apart from a slight drizzle towards the end. The pub was busy for lunch so the six of us had to sit at a high table to eat; I managed to leap up and down onto my chair! I've volunteered to lead the February walk and people want somewhere more urban, with less mud, so I'll do the Legal London walk, which goes around the Inns of Court, Fleet Street and the Templars church. Will do a recce before then to see what lunch options are best.
Today has been set aside to clean the oven. I shouldn't have left it this long but there you go. The slow cooker will be going on with some pork steaks for later.

Morning everyone
Yesterday it poured with rain from early afternoon onwards, it has stopped this morning but is still very dull and dreary. Little one came home with me after school yesterday - she'd been practising for her school play and was full of chat about it. She sang me some of the songs and kept telling me 'they won't sound so good granny because I'm not actually wearing my halo and wings!'
I helped her to wrap her Christmas presents for her mummy before tea...it might take her a while to get into them, they're rather well sellotaped.
I have a few presents still to wrap - I'll get them done this morning before I go down to work.
Hope everyone has a good day today. Safe travels Scarlet and Redruby x9 -

Thanks.Rubbish in the car and I've brought in more wood. One of the painters brought a bagful in for me yesterday so I've put that into the big pot by the fire as I used up what was in there. I've got two more of those big blue bags with logs in by the sofa. If it weren't for the painters I probably wouldn't light it today, will wait to see.Once they arrive I'll go out for a short while.Wicked - that legal walk sounds really interesting. BTW - are you going to see the Tom Hanks space installation at the Lightroom? It looks fascinating. He was very funny about it on the Graham Norton show when he said that if anyone could get to St Pancras, Kings Cross or Euston stations then they could get to the Lightroom and then admitted that he didn't know where any of those places were.
