@nan - yes, the painters are both here. One is outside attacking the front door with a heat gun and the other is upstairs putting on the stain block and starting on the rest of the walls.I've made a strange, but tasty soup with almost past their best carrots, lentils, some spices and some almost ODD pancetta. It's very pleasing despite being made up, I always add a touch of vinegar to lentil soup as it brightens the taste a lot.Now doing Monday banking, got to add in the £10.00 Christmas bonus paid to me by the government.
I'll donate it somewhere.

。❅*⋆⍋*∞*。*∞*⍋⋆*❅。
Deck the halls with boughs of holly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Tis the season to be jolly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
。❅*⋆⍋*∞*。*∞*⍋⋆*❅。Morning! went to bed late, got up fairly early considering...I've just been staring at the front garden which is waiting for a mini makeover but it's too wetand I just want to do nothing..There are four loads of washing to do though, so I can get on with that. Now the freezers have been inventoried, I should do the bookshelves too. We are now having a food waste collection and I think there's a packet of crackers in there that should have been nearer the edge for me to see them. With my memory as it is, it's easier to see a list than pretend I know exactly what's in there. There are only so many jars of olives I can eatSo that's todays jobs. I may put up a curtain rail on the rsj bit between the rooms, I saw a christmas decoration thing using a pole, it will look better than a few bits scattered.
Ruby, snap! I too had a joint form lidl yesterday and it was very tender [ mind you, I don't cook beef much, enough to not be raw is enough for me] Have a lovely party! Nanny, good luck with the mot, and she taught you history? You're famous by degrees then!dp1, it's lovely to see them excited about Christmas. Izzy, good for you! A friedn has just had hers out and she's noticed an immediate improvement in some things but also has noticed her hands and feet are really cold now. WL, it's nice ot her about a good one..TA, get your Spicy Christmas Fairy outfit on and trim till it's dark!Little twinkly lights don't half cheer me up when it's dark and dismal...Scarlet, are you offf again soon? snoozer, woop woop, you're almost on a roll again
surely whether he gets chocolate or not depends on who is doing the looking after..you? no chocolate...laura? chocolate! [j/k!! ] Gers, shame about the top and shame about the steps leading up to getting the top. Coxy, the surgery sounds really interesting, I'd watch for definite. camelot, enjoy the risotto, whats in it? Jackie, hope your empty socket is better and filling slowly. I remember having one out four years ago, it took ages to get used to there being a hole...Right, take care everyone,

Afternoon all,ooh lovely Carols, thanks @-taff .Our snow is slowly going but still slippy in parts.DH is putting up the door garland around the front door. Mostly all decs up now. I wrestled with 1 set of lights this morning, they are quite heavy and kept falling down so I gave up. Also found a newish set of blue lights- not a clue where we had them last yearYesterday was quiet, DH busy with the wardrobe surround, me in the loft getting the decs down, DS helped with the boxes but is working away today and may be late back so I'll struggle but will get them back up, at least they're empty now - the tree one is heavy when it's inside. We had a late meal last night but only had to do the roasties, the beef was from the freezer so ready to just warm up.L.O curry tonight, easy warm up job again :Ruby your trip sounds great, have a wonderful time
& hope Rob enjoys his 'party'
Glad Esther is better Snoozer.Dp1, aw at little ones excitement , make the most of it as they grow up too fastIzzy I use Borrow box sometimes,I usually use a kindle but I don't think you can use it with them, & in lockdown when the library was shut I used a mini tablet that I once got for the DGC that wasn't being used. I got the kind le app on my phone recently and found it easy to read but never thought about using Borrowbox on my phone.I shall investigatethanks.
I have managed to get DH to throw some of his ancient tshirts & socks, and I'm going to go through a set of drawers too now! I have a charity bag on the go.Right, back to it, be careful if it's icy near you x

Gers said:Snoozer - good to hear that Esther is better.Ruby - where are you going? I seem to have missed that... and when? Taking walking boots sounds like somewhere not too cold.Of course, I've now remembered that you're taking your lovely DH to Venice, it slipped my mind, sorry. It all sounds wonderful and Venice shouldn't be too busy just now.Painters have been and gone. Front door got all rubbed down and first coat on it, Oxford blue which is as near as damnit to Tardis blue
Upstairs has been prepped and all the cut in done. The guy had opened a window upstairs so a wee robin got in, he said it flew about a bit, stopped to watch him and then flew out again.
Now I'm having a late lunch. The woodburner is blazing away as I have to leave the front door open for a wee while yet, at least the chap put the door lock back on. The brass surrounds are behind the sofa. Thanks for the hymn Taff - another cheery one.

Ruby I missed that you were off to Venice, enjoy, I loved it I could have watched the traffic on the Grand Canal all day.
Unfortunately, although Esther isn't vomiting the other end has now taken a dive and I'm feeling a bit queasy so nappy changing is a bit of an ordeal.
Taff, if they didn't live with us I would be much more blase (needs and accent, sorry) but I don't want to step on toes or have him pestering for chocolate all the time.
Oh I forgot, if anyone's interested the slow cook turkey from M and S was very good, not in the least dry and only 55 minutes to cook.7 -
