Ulster transfer/payment limit..??

So needed to put some cash in the current account today to cover upcoming bills & got this message:

Bit poor but I suppose a £5k daily limit isn't the end of the world. Wasn't aware I'd be capped so I hope I don't need any serious money quickly.

Problem is ... I haven't transferred anything since Friday where I transferred funnily enough £6,000 (£4,500 + £1,500) ... £1k over their supposed limit.

So why am I likely to be running in to this problem now?

Luckily I'll have enough in my current account to cover tomorrows bills & tomorrow I SHOULD be able to transfer more to cover the bills due in the coming days but it's a bit annoying all the same.

I believe £5k is the default limit for the Natwest group accounts. If you have biometric approval enabled in the app, you can up your daily limits to £20k

  • Have you tried amending your daily maximum limit? Should be able to set a max of up to £20K.

Payment Settings --> Payment Limits --> one of the three payment channels (mobile/internet/open) to amend it.

The message is consistent with the 'daily transfer limit' clock resetting at 18:30 so would suggest that the £4,500 was transferred after that time on Friday (for the one working day period up to 18:30 on Monday), and implicitly the £1,500 before then?

Thanks. Wasn't aware you could tweak limits so I'll take a look at that.

Biometrics is already set. Fingerprint to get in, face for payments it seems.

The £1,500 was 100% during the day. I thought I'd done the £4,500 around 5pm as I could've sworn I was coming to the end of work when I did it but maybe not then.
