The idea was to store fresh milk upstairs in an insulated jug, to use with an airpot. I injured a knee and am finding the long flights of stairs energy-sapping. The insulated jug didn't keep the milk cold enough and it would start to sour after a few hours.

The UHT milk portions are working brilliantly. Careful DIY physio is helping the knee. Hope to be back to normal soon.

semi skimmed and skimmed milk can be frozen, perhaps you could freeze it in your insulated jug and then it would thaw overnight? semi skimmed best stirred before use though. This is how I used to keep coolbag cool when going on self catering holiday, freeze a 4 pinter and it was thawed enough to have tea when I got there although had to wait a while for full thaw.
